One of the most important things to consider about poker cards is the quality of the material they are made of. The low end quality cards are made from different types of paper or cards if you wish. They do not last very long as we all know the durability of paper. The opposite end is made of the plastic poker cards. Many who are frequent poker players prefer these types of cards. They are more durable and the better the plastic the more the durability of the poker cards.
The plastic poker cards also have the given advantage of being stain proof. Most of the times people play poker there are different drinks and snacks in the mix. These are sometimes bound to end up on the cards. If you drop some pizza on the cards all you have to do is go and wash them under some running water. No problem at all. When playing with paper poker cards, they have the disadvantage of creasing. Some people would fold a card in a certain way to help them cheat in the coming hands. Sometimes just lifting the edge of the cards to look at the hand you were dealt can leave the cards all bent up. The paper poker cards are therefore not such a good option.
Poker cards also have variations in how the characters are printed on their faces. This is called the index. There can be a very large index, a very small index and everything else in between. Some people prefer the very large index when they are going in for a fast paced game of poker. They think they will be able to read their cards on the table much quicker hence waste less time. Poker is such an interesting social game and almost everybody loves to play it. There are therefore now poker cards that even the blind can use to play poker. They have pips on their ends that the blind can feel to identify the card.
